Botanical Garden
The Tashkent Botanical Garden named after Academician F.N. Rusanov is the largest botanical garden in Uzbekistan and one of the largest in the CIS. It covers an area of 65 hectares and is located in the Yunusabad district of Tashkent, near the zoo and the Salar canal.
Collection and Scientific Activities
The garden has a collection of over 6,000 species and varieties of plants, including:
170 species of coniferous trees
About 800 species of tropical and subtropical plants
More than 2,000 species of perennial herbs
There are artificial ponds within the garden, and irrigation is carried out by gravity using water from the Akkurgan canal. The garden is involved in scientific research such as the introduction of new plant species, the conservation of rare and endangered species, and collaborates with international organizations.
Structure and Infrastructure
The garden includes:
43 hectares of arboretum
5 hectares of ornamental plant nurseries
1 hectare dedicated to the gene pool of tropical and subtropical plants
A greenhouse complex with an area of 1,776 m² (6 sections)
Over 10 kilometers of walking paths
